    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Mission by: Spudge

    Modset: Standard Modset

    Map: Lythium
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    SITUATION:

Due to our success in Takistan (OP Wet Nurse in 2017), we have been requested to perform convoy duties again, this time in Lythium.

The area here is controlled mostly by Takistani militia, but has some pockets of Takistani Army outposts.

The area has been at a state of war for many months, US forces only occupy a few small outposts and two airports in the area - and experience combat and incursions daily.

Resistance is high. Armored Takistani tanks, AA installations, IEDs and guerrilla tactics are common. Be very cautious this is a HIGH RISK mission.

    MISSION:

Your mission is to take the 3 supply trucks to their destination, using the predetermined route. Expect some resistance. Be on the look out for IEDs and mines, as well as Takistani army and militia forces that are ever present in the area.

    INTEL:
    • Green zones (around the airfields are safe). Red/High risk zones are marked on the map
    • There are known AA (man-pad and ZSU) in the area.
    • There is a known Takistani Army Armor Depot in the red zone

    EXECUTION:
    • Platco, Alpha, Bravo and Charlie have their own vehicles. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie are the convoy units - each with their own respective RG-33 and Hemmit truck. Protect these trucks.
    • Delta is a specialized team, supported by Sparrow (MH-6M). Delta unit contains the engineer, medics and EODs required to complete the route successfully. Sparrows job is to move them safely where they are required.
    • Eagle is our AH-64D and is used for CAS, not for scouting. Keep the convoy safe but beware of enemy AA positions and heavy armor.
    • JTAC to coordinate air traffic. Squads must request through JTAC for air support.
    • Rasmas is our armored support for heavy contacts on the ground. It also has a UAV.
    TO NOTE:
    • Platco is trained in medical, but has no medical supplies.
    • Delta has the only Combat Medics, EODs and Engineer in the platoon. They are critical to mission success.
    • Armed RG-33s are for convoy support, while unarmed is for Platco.
    • All vehicles carry extra supplies.
    • Each point of delivery has extra vehicles and supplies if you lose any on the route, you may take them.
    • If all three supply trucks are lost, it is a mission fail. Its critical that at least one vehicle makes it to the destination.
    • Stay on the predetermined convoy route at all times.
    • FARPs available about both airbases.

    LOGISTICS:
    • Command, 2IC, JTAC
    • 8 man teams: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie
    • 6 man special team: Delta (contains EOD, Medics, Repair Specialist)
    • Air support/Transport: Eagle AH-64D, Sparrow MH-6M

Whoever is driving the trucks is also a rifleman. They will be needed to pull security when trucks are stopped, dodge IEDs, be shot at etc. It shouldnt be a boring role.

What has been common enemy unit sizes?
What are common areas along routes have they been attacking? (targeting junctions, hairpins, culverts, drains etc)
what are common IED attack styles (on route, off route, VBIED, victim operated or by command etc.)?
Are they utilising IEDs to initiate contact, have they been using IEDs to deny withdrawal?
In what way is this considered a high risk area?
What guerilla tactics have they been using? (probing, hit and run, ambush, petty tactics?)

Enemy sizes range from 1 to 8 Infantry. There is a mix of guerilla/Takistani militia and Army units - which means Tanks, offroads and properly equip forces as well as villagers with AKs.
Common areas of attack vary along the route. In the town they are going to use housing for cover. There are various road blocks. There are some mountainous areas where they may use IEDs to stop you and then attack.
IEDs are in patches along the route - you will need to keep an eye out. They are not on the entire route - as its a long route, I did not aim to make it full on the entire way. If everyone is organised and sharp, you could blast through this quite quickly. If we stop for every IED thats not in our way, you're going to have a bad time.
The high risk area is high risk, because its controlled by the enemy. As mentioned in the brieing "The area has been at a state of war for many months, US forces only occupy a few small outposts and two airports in the area - and experience combat and incursions daily.". You will also notice why they are high risk when you find the Takistani army staring at you with a T55.
          Tactics used are ambush mostly.
